The Summer of Patty

The summer has officially come to an end. A new school year is starting. Big things are happening for Payton. She is starting Southern Regional Middle School - I can't believe she is in 7th grade! She will also be swimming for the Toms River Tiger Sharks Competitive swim team (you can find us up at the Y 5 nights a week 😳). I can't wait to see what this year brings her. I know she is destined for great things. She's my Super Girl.

This summer was also dubbed "the summer of Patty". What would I do without this one? Like Payton, she is one of my safest people. She is my oldest friend to date, us knowing each other and have been friends since Kindergarten- that's 37 years! Her and her family up and moved right across the street from us when I needed her the most. After losing Parker, she didn't hesitate to quit her job of almost 18 years, sell her house in Cranford and have her kids change schools. She is Parker's Godmother and I will always introduce her as such. She loved him as fiercely as she loves her own. She was there when he took his first breath and when he took his last. She understands me and my new disabilities with anxiety and PTSD.

Everyone should have someone in their life who would put aside their own needs and move mountains for you. That is exactly what Patricia Hayeck Pollard has done for me. Thank you for helping me get through every day - the good ones and the bad. I'll need you to do that for all the rest. Love you 💛
