This is one of my very favorite moments with Parker and his “other” mama Laureen Morra-Gonnella. Payton and some of the other kids on the street started spring soccer and this was their first game. Parker, being who he was, wanted to play with them. He was only shy of being 4 and not old enough. I remember him being so upset and disappointed. He walked himself away from us to empty bleachers where he sat for quite some time. After a bit Laureen, being who she is, couldn’t stand to see him this way and went and sat with him and had one of their little talks. They shared many moments like this and I thank her for being such a wonderful part of his life. Laureen, you are one of my very best friends for so many reasons, but how much you loved Parker is the best of all.
